Ivy Tech and Metal Works, started as a high temperature foundry & forge system design and manufacturing company/business.
Over the past decade, our only goal has been to have a positive and beneficial impact on the manufacturing capabilities of other industrial operations and companies, through supplying, creating, and developing:

• Refractory ceramic linings & compositions that are more effective, efficient, and durable; across a much wider range of high-temp. applications & services, compared to the application specific industrial refractory products, that entire industries had accepted as essential system maintenance materials/products, at the time.
• Naturally aspirated Venturi burners, as well as multi-stage surface mixing oxy-fuel burners, that were designed to be more user friendly, (for both the private shop user and industrial application alike) and also perform with MUCH greater efficiency, versatility, and adjustability. Having produced, manufactured and marketed, the second most efficient Venturi burners available in North America at the time. (Being able to hold combustion stable at the tuyere, at a minimum gas pressure of 0.8 PSI, absent of fuel pre-heating). **Our adjustable Venturi burners, manufactured in variety of mixing tube diameters, are still available for purchase! But only by special request, as we no longer actively manufacture any burners for sales purposes at this time. But we can, and do, still make them on occasion.**
• Additive material production/processing machine systems. Such as ball mills, electrolytic chemical production systems, and much more.

In the year prior to the outbreak of the COVID’19 virus and subsequent pandemic, Ivy Tech and Metal Works began manufacturing Ball Mill processed Pure, and Dark, Flake Aluminum Metal powders, selling to buyer via eBay’s Online Marketplace.
The onset of the pandemic strangely coincided with an explosion in the demand (orders per month) for our metal powder products. Unit orders multiplied more than 20 fold, without warning, after which the volume of our metal powder’s that were being purchased and shipped continued to exponentially grow each month. Sales of Aluminum Powder and Magnalium Powder continued to climb on that trajectory for a 3 year period, until eBay revised their product restriction policies and subsequently deleted all of our metal powder product listings.

Now when it comes to classifying a chemical/material as more or less “dangerous”… Most any reputable institution does so according to a clear and concise material analysis procedure. The results of which self evidently determine the classification of that given product or chemical material. (Example: Just because a hammer can be used to crush a persons skull, that does not mean that my ownership of a hammer puts my skull in imminent danger of being crushed.)
However, eBay uses a purely incidental approach, when determining of a product should be restricted for their marketplace.
Meaning, that even if an item is completely harmless (by itself), the ease with which that product can be weaponized to cause harm, determines (according to eBay) the danger and risk which that product poses, regardless of the products intended use (with or without the additional components required to make the product in question capable of being/causing harm).

But, regardless of how imbecilic eBays logic is as it relates to product restrictions, it is still eBay’s Marketplace, and they have the right to restrict whatever products they desire, no mater how weak and illogical their rational.

So, it is with the desire to re-established our previous level of product accessibility (eBay), between online shoppers and our Metal Powder products in particular, that we created this online web store. Because you deserve to have access to weapons grade quality products, especially when purchased in the absence of any corresponding weapon.
